| Status Update |
Recently a transformer blew, knocking out three walls of the electrical equipment room on the first floor; blowing them several feet from their original position, and the underground cabling that powers the first floor of the H1 datacenter was destroyed. Fortunately no one was injured, servers and data are all intact.
Due to the catastrophic nature of the explosion backups and redundancy don't really help. Most of the 9,000 servers affected have been coming back online, though some still require new power conduits which are on the way.
During the re-start process some of the DNS dependent services (in particular, email) have suffered after coming back online without reliable local name-resolution and work-arounds have been implemented and finally appear to be doing the trick. As of about 15 minutes ago it seems resolution has returned 100% and everything is going very smoothly.
We are continuing to test, monitor and adjust. If we've missed anything so far we'll have it found & wrapped up shortly.

You may also want to re-adjust your settings while you're here. Currently, setting your threshold to about 4 or 5 should be in the best zone. Personally I still use 3.5, which works very well for me.
